Anyone with an interest in digital should also have an interest in user experience, it’s like the song says, you can’t have one without the other…

A geeky obsession with data and facts, coupled with a slight regret that I didn’t undertake a business analysis degree and an inquisitive mind which enjoys sussing out complex requirements has meant that I’ve naturally been pulled in the direction of UX and a number of my roles have encompassed elements of this at varying levels.

The following outlines some recent User Experience work, but you can find out more in the following sections: Business Requirements, Sketches and Scamps, and Wireframes.

Tangent Snowball

Project Management of a full user experience project on behalf of Ireland’s largest bookseller. My work for this project involved:

  • Stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering
  • Management of User Experience consultant through development of wireframes and detailed user journeys
  • Consultation and input into design and front end development phases to ensure user experience requirements are carried through
The next phase of this work will see the development of a mobile version of the website which will see a stripped down user experience. This phase will be delivered before the end of 2012.
I also work on the development roadmap for international nail polish brand nails inc (www.nailsinc.com) and am frequently involved with the development of campaign activity as well as user experience improvements on the main website. My work encompasses:
  • Planning and implementation of social channels into campaign activity to ensure continuity of user journey and best use of channels
  • Ongoing recommendations for improvements to journey flow or functional elements
  • Production and maintenance of the company’s innovative in-store touch screen technology
